A privately owned hospice serving the Bay Area
Alameda Care Hospice is privately owned and intentionally structured with smaller caseloads, focused care territories, and a white-glove service philosophy. This means our clinicians spend more time with each patient, respond faster, and provide consistent, personalized care. You won’t experience the revolving door of caregivers common at larger organizations.
Yes. Alameda Care Hospice is a privately owned hospice provider. This independence allows us to prioritize patient care over volume, maintain smaller caseloads, invest in our clinicians, and make decisions based on what’s right for families rather than what satisfies corporate metrics.
Yes. Consistency is central to our care model. Each patient is assigned a dedicated, coordinated team — the same nurses, aides, and support professionals — who visit regularly. No revolving door, no strangers at the bedside. Your team knows your family by name and by need.
We prioritize rapid response. Phone calls are returned promptly, and urgent evaluations are coordinated the same day whenever possible. Our focused care territories mean clinicians are closer to patients, enabling faster initiation of services when families need it most.
Hospice does not typically provide around-the-clock care in the home. Our team makes regularly scheduled visits based on patient needs. However, Alameda Care Hospice has a nurse available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone to address questions and provide guidance when you need it most.

No. Hospice care is designed for the whole family. In addition to clinical care for the patient, our team provides emotional support, education, and counseling to family members and caregivers. We also offer bereavement services extending 13 months after loss.
No. Patients can receive hospice care with a prognosis of six months or more if the disease runs its normal course. In fact, earlier enrollment allows patients and families to benefit from a broader range of supportive services — better symptom management, more meaningful time, and stronger support.
Absolutely. You can keep your personal physician while receiving hospice care. Our medical team works in close coordination with your doctor to ensure seamless continuity of care and the best possible treatment plan.
No. Hospice shifts the focus from curative treatments to quality of life, comfort, and dignity. It’s about living each day to its fullest — with comprehensive medical care, emotional support, and the freedom to focus on what matters most.
Yes. Hospice care is 100% covered by Medicare Part A, Medi-Cal, and most private insurance plans. There is no out-of-pocket cost for hospice services for eligible patients. Our team handles the administrative details so families can focus on what matters.
